My name is Matthew Bernhardt. I maintain this blog to discuss topics such as web development, educational technology, and architecture. This focus has changed over time, however, so if you dig back into the archives you’ll find a number of other posts about sports, my personal life, etc. I’ve gradually split my online personality into several buckets, however, so by this point you’ll find my soccer writings at Examiner or Massive Report, and my personal musings on Google+ or Facebook.
I work at the Knowlton School of Architecture, part of The Ohio State University. My official title is “webmaster and digital fabrication coordinator”, which gives me an opportunity to be creative in terms that are both physical (laser cutters, rapid prototypers) and ephemeral (coding, database design). I’ve also developed more of an interest in educational technology over the past few years, particularly in collaboration with Lorrie McAllister. Together, Lorrie and I maintain a blog titled Adventures in Open Education that addresses some of these topics.
If you’d like to contact me, you can find me on various internet platforms under the username ‘morphosis7’. That is also my username at Yahoo if you’d like to email me.
If video is more your thing, I’d invite you to watch this quick video profile/interview that a colleague did of me in the fall of 2011:
