Jack Bell on Frankie Hejduk

The New York Times has a blog going that covers the Copa America – which is generally a good thing for people (like me) who want to follow the games without A) the correct cable TV channels and B) patience for the bandwidth-hog that US Soccer’s Matchtracker has become.

And it seems that every time the long-haired defender is written off by fans and the so-called experts, he manages to insinuate himself back onto the U.S. national team’s roster. Although there are still several years until the next World Cup, Hejduk could conceivably still have a spot on Coach Bob Bradley’s roster for the foreseeable future.

While I’m not sure I believe Frankie could actually be Africa-bound in 3 years, it certainly is interesting to think about…
