Crew Schedule Released

February 6, 2007

The Crew schedule is out! It looks like our home opener (against New York on April 7th) will be the start of a 3-of-4 home stand, and then things settle into a more-or-less every other game pattern. There’s the usual road trip in early August and late October to avoid the state fair and quarterhorse congress. Too bad that, due to the QHC, we end up with two road games to close the season – and at DC and New England to boot.

Oh – and we get to host Beckham and his entourage on September 30th. So bully for us there.

So now it’s just a matter of getting the local TV/etc information hammered out, including the league’s online video package. I had that last year (no cable sucks sometimes), and it turned out to be a decent experience. Hopefully they’ll repeat that and manage to stream some of the nationally-broadcast games as well.

I’m sure Duncan and Jamie will be there to see Beckham – alas I will hopefully be home w/ a newborn!

Oh, you know you can bring the kid! The sequel really should see Beckham play if he/she is going to be raised right. It’s sort of like listening to Mozart in utero… helps build synapses and the like.

Seriously, good to see that MLS placed a Beckham game here. I haven’t gone out to look at the LA schedule yet, but my fear was that some teams might lose their chance to host Beckham at a game by the league scheduling inter-conference away games early on. We’ll see if they were that smart.
